Reported Crop Circles for the State
of North Dakota -
Northwood, Grand Forks County (August 19, 2005)
A series of five circles (largest was 68’ in dia.) all swirled counter-clockwise creating a ‘thought-bubble’ type design was spotted by a local pilot that flew over the field on his outbound trip from the nearby Northwood Municipal (Vince) Airport, but spotted the formation on his return approach later the same day.
There were initially no tracks into the formation when the pilot landed his plane and went over to the field to investigate.
Local residents Brad Jensen, Gary and Echo Butz reported that the swirled centers of the circles were not at the geometric centers of the circles.
Analysis from samples and measurements done by local resident Brad Jensen showed that the flattened circle plants did have elongated nodes.
